Me

The author, in her own words.

Nice to meet you, I'm Emily.

I started writing stories when I was six. I haven’t stopped—though my ability to hold a pencil has improved.

These days, I’m a Creative Director in Chicago. I’ve written about money, food, wine, healthcare, video games, hand tools, even baseball, and my work has appeared most everywhere words do: magazine ads, brochures, videos, social media, email campaigns, paid search, digital ads, etc.

I bring a little Minnesota nice to the Windy City, where I live with a husband and a dog with the personality of an angry muppet. I graduated from Northwestern University with a B.A. in Communication and some English Literature on the side. I like to cook, read, knit, and argue about the serial comma. When I grow up, I’ll become a karaoke superstar and/or a cheesy romance novelist. Until then, I’ll keep scribbling away.
